Newborn Baby Dies After Being Mistakenly Sent to Hospital Morgue

An investigation is underway at a hospital in Castro, Brazil, after the death of a newborn baby which was mistakenly sent to the facility’s morgue while still alive.

According to the child’s father, Gilmar de Farias, the infant boy died as a result of negligence on the part of the attending physician who failed to notice that the baby, born three months premature, was still breathing during a hurried postnatal examination.

Checking-in to work with old fashioned punchcard machines may be a thing of the past, replaced with more high-tech means of verifying an employee’s hours on the clock. Though, as technology has gotten more advanced, so too has workers’ schemes to get paid for doing nothing.

At a state run emergency care facility in Ferraz de Vasconcelos, outside of Sao Paulo, medical staff are required to log in and out of work using a fingerprint scanner — a foolproof-seeming system designed to streamline work verification and combat clerical errors. But after police were tipped to possible fraud taking place, the high-tech machine seemed suddenly much less secure.

Shunning the notion that fractured bones should slow one down, this broken-footed commuter was spotted riding his motorcycle on the streets of Rio Branco, Acre.

While piloting a motorcycle without the use of one leg might seem daring enough, this rider is actually making due with just two functioning limbs securing him to the bike, using his left arm to secure his crutches.

In newly released footage taken last month, more than twenty armed and uniformed Military Police officers in Vila Velha, ES are seen taking an unauthorized break from law enforcement to play a game of badminton.

Dogs Search Pond Every Day For Owner Who Drowned Weeks Ago

Last month, 46-year-old Luís de Almeida drowned while swimming with friends in a pond near his farm in Araçatuba, Brazil, as his two adopted Labrador Retrievers, unaccustomed to water, watched from the shore. Sadly, his companions were able to pull him from the pond, but their efforts to resuscitate him failed.

The tragic accident came as a shock to Luís’s family and friends, particularly for the two dogs, Max and Lua.
